Corangamite Youth Film Festival

Are you aged 12 - 25 years and have a story to tell about your town? Corangamite Shire Council wants to hear from you! We’re launching the Corangamite Youth Film Festival (CYFF), and it’s all about showcasing your unique perspective through film.

What is it all about?

Our 2025 theme is “See me here!” We want you to capture what makes your town special, interesting, or quirky, or share what it’s like to be a young person living there. It’s your chance to show us your world through your eyes.

How does it work?

You will attend workshops to create your film, and then get the chance to see it on the big screen at the film festival!

Skill Development Workshops

Learn from the best! Jennifer Monk, an award-winning actor, director, writer, producer, and filmmaker, will guide you through concept design, scripting, staging, sound design, directing, filming, and editing. 

These workshops will be held at your town or virtually (depending on numbers), and the goal is to create a 5-minute short film.

Corangamite Youth Film Festival

Get ready for the red carpet! Your films will be premiered at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown, with a glamorous screening event complete with canapés served by youth hospitality students.

A panel will award winners in categories like Best Actor, Best Scriptwriter, Best Sound Designer, Best Editor, Best Cinematographer, and Best Director.
