Learner Log Books
All learner drivers must now complete 120 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night, before sitting for their licence otherwise it will not be accepted by VicRoads.
Did you know:
- an incorrectly filled out log book could cause you a six week delay in getting your licence.
- fifty per cent of learner drivers are failing or refused a licence test because they have not completed their L120 hour learner log book correctly.
Tips to help
- All items for every trip entry must be completed – that includes odometer readings and conditions.
- Learners are encouraged to regularly photocopy their Log Book pages. If they lose the Log Book they can buy a new one and then re-enter the photocopied entries into a replacement Log Book and have them re-signed by the supervising drivers.
- If a mistake is made, draw a line through the entry and re-enter the information correctly on the next line.
- Every supervising driver, including driving instructors, needs to complete their details in the List of Supervising Drivers. This should be completed at the first session with each supervising driver. If required, additional List of Supervising Driver pages can be printed from the VicRoads website
