What happened at the November Council Meeting

At its November meeting Council:

  • Set the mayoral term for 12 months and set the next election date for the November 2022 Council meeting
  • Elected Cr Ruth Gstrein mayor for 12 months
  • Elected Cr Geraldine Conheady Deputy Mayor for 12 months
  • Designated Councillor representatives to a number of committees
  • Deferred until the next meeting discussion of:
    • a Planning Permit application  to use land in Skipton for dog breeding; and
    • Council making a submission on a proposed development of 26 residences in Camperdown through Victoria’s Big Housing Build;
  • Adopted:
  • the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-2025
  • the Animals Policy dated November 2021
  • the Open Air Burning Policy dated November 2021
  • the Use of Council Land Policy dated November 2021
  • Awarded Contract No. 2022018 – Slurry Sealing of Various Local Roads in 2021-2022 to Colas Solutions for $278,248.60 plus GST and resolved to use a saving on budget of $21,752 for road maintenance to meet Roads to Recovery funding requirements
  • Signed agreement with Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications for $4,571,110 for Phase 3 of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and endorsed the following projects:

  • Allocated Quick Response Grants to:
    • Camperdown Horse Trials Inc. ($500) to replace entrance sign;
    • Camperdown Theatre Group ($500) for the Camperdown Community Carols event;
    • Lions Club of Camperdown ($480) for a skin check van visit;
    • Timboon and District Hall Committee ($500) for a security gate;
    • Leadership Great South Coast ($500) for Accessible Beach Day at Port Campbell; and
    • Leslie Manor CFA ($400) for its Annual Community Event.
