June Council Meeting Wrap

At its June Council meeting, Council:

• Endorsed the Committee of Management for the Cobden Recreation Centre for 2019-2021: Brett Taylor, Michelle de Bie, Belinda Savage, Rohan Keert, Jane Hinds, Tania Rohan, Geanelle Searle, Denise Robertson, Kelvin White and Chris Brooks

• Refused to grant a permit for a two lot subdivision at Bostocks Creek 

• Reflected on the results of the 2019 Community Satisfaction Survey and agreed to publish the results on the website 

• Adopted the:
  Long Term Financial Plan 2019-2029
  Domestic Wastewater Contribution Program Policy(PDF, 209KB)

• Updated and adopted the:
  Retail Area Facade Improvement Program Policy(PDF, 58KB)
  Flying of Flags Policy(PDF, 254KB)
  Complaints Handling Policy(PDF, 214KB)
  Grants Policy(PDF, 239KB)

• Reviewed the Barwon South West Regional Dairy Supply Chain Study Report and agreed to review Higher Mass Limits on the local road network. Resolved to write to Jaala Pulford (Minister for Roads, Roads Safety and TAC) and Melissa Horne (Minister for Ports and Freight) about the importance of investment in roads infrastructure to support the productivity of the nationally-significant dairy industry

• Resolved to:
  Seek submissions on giving the Cobden SES depot to VICSES for a peppercorn amount of $1
  Rent the Lismore and Terang SES depots for a peppercorn rental of $1 for a term of up to 40 years
  Seek to reassign the head lease to VICSES for the Camperdown SES Depot

• Delegated authority to the CEO to sell the Cobden Street Stall

• Approved proposed 2019-2020 fees and charges for:
  Cobden Civic Hall
  Timboon stadium

• Awarded the contract for provision of roadside vegetation management including tree services, roadside slashing and spraying

• Endorsed the Library Service Level Agreement with the Corangamite Regional Library Corporate for 2019-2020

• Approved Quick Response Grants for:
  Camperdown Community House Food Bank ($500)
  Camperdown Playgroup for venue costs ($500)
  Camperdown Toy Library for new infant resources ($500)
  Camperdown Uniting Church for replacement tables for community meals ($500)
  Port Campbell Progress Group for worm farms ($490)
  Cobden & District Tennis Association for signage ($429)

• Authorised the CEO to provide feedbck on the proposed Local Government Bill 2019 reforms to the State Government, the Minister for Local Government, Shadow Minister for Local Government, Member for Polwarth and the Members for Western Victoria.
