April 2019 Council Meeting Wrap

At its April meeting, Council: 

  • received the 2019-2020 Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf Management Committee Annual Report;
  • noted the draft 2019-2020 budget includes $23,000 toward implementation of the Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf Management Plan;
  • appointed two community representatives on the Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf Management Committee for a three year term;
  • received the Audit Committee Report for the 21 March 2019 meeting;
  • approved the 2019-2020 Strategic Internal Audit Plan consisting of the following reviews:
    • Food Act/Health Act Compliance; and
    • Rates Management;
  • approved $250,000 for inclusion in the 2019-2020 Budget for waste water treatment on Park Road, Camperdown;
  • released the Draft Budget 2019-2020, incorporating the 2019-2020 fees and charges schedule, for public consultation;
  • received the Federal Budget report and resolved to write to Member for Wannon Dan Tehan in appreciation of his support in securing funding for Shipwreck Coast Master Plan initiatives;
  • adopted the following policies dated April 2019:
    • Swimming Pool Maintenance Policy
    • Memorial Policy dated April 2019
    • Rating of Residential Properties Used for Charitable Purposes Policy
    • Investment Policy
    • Fraud Prevention and Control Policy
    • Fees and Charges Policy
    • Corporate Purchase Card Policy
    • Business Continuity Policy
    • Local Laws, Fuel Reduction Slashing on Roadsides Policy
    • Council Domain User Account and Password Policy;
  • deferred adopting the Local Laws, Use of Private Land Policy pending further development;
  • approved the transfer of lease for a share of a hangar at Cobden Airstrip;
  • received the Great South Coast Regional AFL, Cricket and Netball Strategy 2019 to 2033 and resolved to write to Sport Minister Martin Pakula Energy, Environment & Climate Change Minister Lily D’Ambrosio, regarding the challenges with the future management and maintenance of sport and recreation facilities on Crown land reserves;
  • awarded the following contracts:
    • 2019007 – Long Term Dozer Hire, Corangamite Regional Landfill, Corangamite Shire; and
    • 2019013 – Supply and Installation of Sheds at Corangamite Regional Landfill and Timboon Transfer Station, excluding the requirement to install the solar power system at Timboon; and
  • received the quarterly finance report.
