September Council meeting wrap

At its September meeting, Council:

  • Endorsed Committees of Management for Camperdown, Cobden, Lismore, Skipton, Terang and Timboon pools for one year 
  • Endorsed Committee of Management for the Simpson and District Public Hall for a two-year term 
  • Gave in-principle approval to the Financial Statements and Performance Statement for the year ended 30 June 2019 
  • Adopted the Procurement Policy, Asset Valuation and Revaluation Policy, Innovation and Entrepreneur Program Policy and Records Management Policy, all dated September 2019
  • Endorsed the Mount Noorat Management Plan
  • Allocated Facility Design Grants to:
    Terang Mortlake Football Netball Club ($6655)
    Simpson Bowls Club Inc. ($3850)
    Camperdown Bowling Club Inc. ($2695)
    Pomborneit Cricket Club ($4950)
    Camperdown Cricket Club Inc. ($5500); and
    Port Campbell Surf Club Inc. ($6350)
  • Allocated Retail Area Façade Improvement Program applicants to 21 businesses 
  • Allocated Quick Response Grants to:
    Weerite Public Hall ($409), to replace a failed cistern
    Princetown Cricket Club ($500) towards under 13 uniforms; and
    Darlington Rural Fire Brigade ($500) towards 70th Birthday Celebrations 
  • Resolved to sell discontinued road reserve at Noorat to the adjoining landowner for $1 
  • Awarded contract for design, supply and modular construction of Port Campbell public toilets to Asco Group Pty Ltd; 
  • Awarded contract for sealing various local roads throughout Corangamite Shire and Warrnambool City in 2019-2020 to Inroads, and resolved a $78,541 saving for road maintenance to ensure Roads to Recovery funding requirements are met; 
  • Awarded three-year contract for Corangamite Regional Landfill Earthworks Plant Hire to:
    Goldsmith Civil and Environment
    Armistead Earthmoving
    Waldig Civil
    Mibus Brothers; and
    Molan Plumbing and Civil.
