What happened at the April Council Meeting

At its April meeting, Council: 

  • Received the 2019-2020 Mt Leura and Mt Sugarloaf Management Committee Annual Report, appointed Frances Grundy and Caroline Duynhoven as community representatives for a three-year term and resolved to invite a third applicant to be non-voting member
  • Received the Audit Committee Report 
  • Approved the 2020-2021 Strategic Internal Audit Plan consisting of these reviews:
    Food Act/Health Act Compliance; and
    Fuel Cards and Bowser Key Management
  • Refused a permit for a single self-contained unit for guest accommodation at 4795 Princes Highway, Gnotuk
  • Issued a building permit for three dwellings, four-lot subdivision and reduction of car parking at Grassroots Deli Café, 28 Lord Street, Port Campbell 
  • Adopted new Property Leasing Policy, Sale of Council Land and Buildings Policy, Risk Management Policy and Disability Discrimination Policy
  • Extended Contract 2019003 - Provision of Plant Hire and Associated Services for up to 12 months
  • Approved Quick Response Grants Program for:
    Terang Bowling Club ($500) to update kitchen utensils and cooking equipment, and buy a food processor
    Darlington Mechanics Institute and Recreation Reserve Inc ($500) towards sealing and protecting kitchen and supper room floors; and
    Skipton Community Shop Inc ($500) to repair a Christmas sleigh used as a town feature 
  • Resolved that the CEO write to the State Education Minister, Federal Minister and Local Member Dan Tehan to express our concerns with the lack of connectivity in the Shire and lack of IT support for those who have to learn remotely
