What happened at the June Council Meeting

At its June meeting Council:

  • Granted a permit for a Packaged Liquor Licence 
  • Authorised the CEO to make a submission to the Minister for Planning outlining key strategic priorities and project specific issues relevant to a Planning Permit Application for the Bostocks Creek Solar Farm
  • Adopted:
    • the 2040 Corangamite Community Vision and thanked all members of the Citizens’ Jury for their time, dedication and commitment to producing the document
    • the Council Plan 2021–2025, incorporating the Annual Action Plan 2021-2022 with amendments: move to advocacy for mobile tower improvements at Noorat (following a funding announcement from the Federal Government for Scotts Creek and Ecklin South mobile towers) and remove the Special Charge Scheme Policy (adopted at this Council meeting).
    • the 2021-2022 Budget
    • determinations on rates and charges and other matters for FY 2021-2022
    • the Revenue and Rating Plan 2021-2025
    • the Fees and Charges Policy dated May 2021
    • the Special Rates and Charges Policy dated June 2021
    • the Business Façade Improvement Program Policy dated June 2021
  • Noted the 2021 Community Satisfaction Survey results and published them on the Corangamite Shire website

  • Awarded contract 2022005 Provision of Electrical Services until 30 June 2024 to

    • Dickinson Electrical;
    • Hillec;
    • KMS Electrical;
    • Murfett and Whiting Electrical; and
    • Walsh Electrical.
  • Allocated an additional $204 to the North Ward Quick Response Grant allocation from other unused ward allocation
  • Allocated Quick Response Grants to:
    • Emu Creek Pony Club ($400) to buy dressage numbers
    • Corangamite U3A ($421) to buy Scrabble and Mahjong sets
    • Terang Bridge Club ($123.50) to buy a printer and replacement cartridges
    • Terang Mortlake Football Netball Club ($500) for the renovation of garden beds at the Ridley Function Centre
    • Ecklin Public Hall Committee ($489) to replace a broken range hood
    • Lismore Golf Club ($500) to enlarge the Water Tower carpark
    • Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum Trust ($500) to buy composted mushroom mulch
    • Robert Burns Scottish Festival Committee ($500) for professional editing services to develop a short film about Camperdown
    • Cobden Junior Football Netball Club ($500) to buy new jumpers for all three grades
    • Port Campbell Public Purpose Reserve Committee of Management ($490) to buy native plants and grasses for new garden bed; and
    • Camperdown Golf Club ($500) to buy and install two toilet exhaust fans;
  • Endorsed the Service Level Agreement between Corangamite Shire Council and the Corangamite Regional Library Corporation until 30 June 2022
  • Entered into new lease agreements with:
    • National Trust of Australia (Victoria) for Mt Sugarloaf for the purpose of land management until 30 June 2042
    • Cobden Rotary Club Inc. to operate the Mini Golf Course and associated facilities at the Cobden Racecourse Reserve Precinct until 30 November 2023 (with option of a further five-year term); and
    • South Western Model Engineers Inc. to operate the Miniature Railway track and associated facilities at the Cobden Racecourse Reserve Precinct until November 2023 (with option of a further five-year term)
  • Awarded:
    • Contract 2022008 for the Management of Recreation Facilities until 30 June 2023 to Victoria YMCA Community Programming Pty Ltd with option to extend the contract by a further 2 years
  • Awarded Contract 2022004 Provision of Plumbing Services until 30 June 2024 to:

    • Molan Plumbing and Civil;
    • Murfett Plumbing;
    • Poole Plumbing;
    • Walsh Plumbing; and
    • Warrnambool Emergency Plumbing
