What happened at the April Council meeting

At its April meeting, Council:

  • Received the 2020-2021 Mt Leura and Mt Sugarloaf Management Committee Annual Report
  • Appointed Rebecca Stone and Graham Arkinstall as community representatives on the committee for three years
  • Endorsed the Cobden Aerodrome Terms of Reference April 2021
  • Adopted:

     - a new Media Relations Policy      
     - new Social Media Policy

  • Authorised the CEO to make a submission on the Bookaar Solar Farm Ministerial Planning Permit application to DELWP
  • Allocated $106,311.14 (exc. GST) to 27 Small Business Assistance Program applicants
  • Allocated Quick Response Grants to:
  1. Darlington Mechanics Institute and Recreation Reserve Committee of Management ($195) for two signs at Nuggets Flat
  2. South West Model Engineers Incorporated/Cobden Miniature Railway ($500) for lawn mower
  3. Timboon Bowling Club ($468) to buy an EFTPOS terminal
  4. Lismore Men’s Shed ($500) to replace rotten fascia boards
  5. Lismore Cemetery Trust Shed ($500) to complete a small drainage project
  • Resolved to apply to the Office of Geographic Names to rename the Cobden Go-kart Access Track to Airport Road, Cobden
  • Awarded:
  1. Contract 2022002 Programmed Maintenance of Council Buildings (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2023) to Programmed Property Services and delegated the CEO to approve the option for two-year extension
  2. Contract 2022003 Supply and Delivery of Diesel to Council Depots and Corangamite Regional Landfill to United Retail Group Pty Ltd (T/A Riordan Fuels), for a    estimated $846,560 p.a. (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2024)
  • Agreed to act as loan guarantor for the Cobden Football Netball Club Inc. for up to $100,000 towards  netball facilities upgrade
  • Received the finance report for the period ending 31 March 2021
  • Approved adjustments to the 2020-2021 forecast budget
  • Updated the Instrument of Delegation to the Chief Executive Officer
  • Received the Victorian Electoral Commission’s report on the 2020 Corangamite Shire general election
  • Considered the CEO Performance Review April 2021 (confidential)
