What happened at the November 2022 Council meeting

At its November meeting, Council:

  • Set the length of the Mayoral term to be one year
  • Determined the next Mayoral election be held at either;
    • the regular meeting of Council in November 2023; or;
    • at a meeting of Council held no later than one month after the date of the 2024 general election
  • Re-elected Cr Ruth Gstrein as Mayor
  • Re-elected Cr Geraldine Conheady as Deputy Mayor
  • Elected designated Councillors to the following committees:

      - Central Pools Committee - Cr Makin
      - Chief Executive Officer Performance Review Committee - Mayor, Cr Conheady and Cr Beard

      - Elm Tree Reference Group - Cr Cole
      - Environmental Monitoring Committee - Cr Hickey
      - Municipal Emergency Management Committee - Cr Beard

      - Audit and Risk Committee - Cr Conheady, Cr Makin  
      - Beach Energy Otway Gas Community Reference Group - Cr Vogels

  • Granted a Planning Permit for construction of a residential aged care facility on Robinson Street, Camperdown
  • Varied the Special Charge Scheme for installation of footpath and associated works on the northern side of High Street from Brown Street to the Golf Club, Lismore to acknowledge the final costs
  • Declared a special charge to seal Neil Avenue, Terang
  • Awarded contract 2023016 for renovations at McNicol Street Long Day Care, Camperdown to Prospec Building & Construction Pty Ltd for the amount of $477,476.71
  • Received a report on the 2022 Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) National Local Roads and Transport Congress
  • Allocated a Quick Response Grant to Camperdown Cycling Club ($500) to buy two first aid kits
