What happened at the April 2022 Council meeting

At the April Council meeting, Council:
- Received the 2022-2023 Mt Leura and Mt Sugarloaf Management Committee Annual Report
- Appointed Simon Buccheri and Chris Warren as community representatives on the committee for three years and Megan Bridger-Darling as community representative for two years
- Approved planning permits for:
- a gas well and removal of native vegetation associated with the construction of access at Lot 2 PS 306817T, Great Ocean Road (Sharps Road), Port Campbell for a Use and development of land for petroleum production
- a two-lot subdivision at 6 Little Street, Camperdown
- Received the finance report for the period ending 31 March 2022
- Approved the adjustments to the 2021-2022 reviewed budget
- Property Leasing Policy
- Sale of Council Land and Buildings Policy
- Swimming Pool Maintenance Policy
- Corporate Purchase Card Policy
- Borrowing Policy
- Rating of Residential Properties Used for Charitable Purposes Policy
- Noted an officer’s report on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in relation to the ‘2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’, and how these goals have been applied, or mapped, to the ‘2021-2025 Corangamite Council Plan’
- Endorsed the ‘Corangamite Sustainable Development Goals Council Plan Map’
- Resolved to proceed with the project to utilise the UN SDG framework to develop local actions as part of the development of the new environment strategy
- Contract 2022024 – Transfer Station Waste, Recycling and Scrap Metal Collection Services for five years to several suppliers; and
- Contract 2022023 (Supply and Delivery of One Motor Grader);
- Authorised a list of Council officers as authorised officers under the ‘Planning and Environment Act 1987’
- Delegated to the CEO to sign required documentation such as a Grant Agreement with Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications to receive funds of $2,285,555 for Phase 3 extension of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI Program), endorsed the list of projects, and resolved to writes to Education Minister and Federal Member for Wannon Dan Tehan advising of the nominated projects and noting Council’s appreciation
- Allocated Quick Response Grants to:
- Terang RSL ($500) for landscaping
- Mount Elephant Committee of Management ($400) to buy a second-hand self-propelled mower
- Western Plains Machinery Restoration Group ($500) to replace hand-written directional signage
- Scotts Creek Recreation Reserve Committee of Management ($500) to buy a pie-heater and microwave
- Western Plains Preschool ($500) a Winter Solstice community get-together
- Corangamite Lions Football Club ($500) to buy vests, bibs, balls and equipment
- Awarded ‘Contract 2022020 Twelve Apostles Trail Construction - Path, Bridge and Boardwalk Works - Great Ocean Road, Port Campbell; Curdievale Port Campbell Road and Timboon Peterborough Road’
- Approved purchase of an articulated wheel loader for Naroghid Landfill
