What happened at the November 2024 Council meetings
At the 12 November meeting, Council
- received the signed Oaths and Affirmations of Office of Councillors Beard, Cole, Conheady, Gstrein, Hickey, Makin and Vogels
- determined the next Mayoral election would be held at the scheduled meeting of Council on 25 November 2025.
- elected Cr Makin as Mayor
- elected Cr Hickey as Deputy Mayor
At its November 25 meeting Council

- received the Biannual Audit and Risk Committee Report for September 2024;
- noted the report and the findings in the Corangamite Community Vision 2040, November 2024 Report Card;
- received the finance report for the period ending 30 September 2024 and approved the $14,494 unfavorable adjustment to the 2024-2025 forecast budget;
- noted an application to the Business Assistance Scheme by 12 Apostles Food Artisans Inc was approved for $2,000 under delegation by the Chief Executive Officer during the 2024 Council Election Period;
- noted the report (June – October 2024) for the Ready Now Grants program benefiting
- South Western District Restoration Group Inc. ($500) to replace entrance signage;
- Cobden and District Historical Society ($440) to buy two roadside promotional signs;
- Progressing Cobden Inc. ($374) to buy a 4G-compatible mobile phone for the visitor centre;
- Camperdown Courthouse Inc ($500) to buy a printer;
- Simpson Men's Shed ($500) to buy a chainsaw and safety kits;
- Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum Trust Inc. ($500) to buy tools;
- Simpson and District Community Centre Inc. ($500) to buy a weatherproof cupboard and ring spotlight with solar panel;
- Rotary Club of Cobden Inc. ($500) to conduct ‘Magic of Rotary’ event;
- Camperdown Girl Guides Inc. ($474) to buy six tables;
- Camperdown Little Athletics Inc. ($500) to buy a lockable storage cupboard;
- Timboon Field and Game Inc. ($476.65) to buy tools and slow cookers / steamers;
- Camperdown Toy Library ($500) to upgrade toys to meet community needs, increase memberships;
- Camperdown Swimming Pool Committee of Management ($500) for additional seating;
- Lismore Men’s Shed ($500) to buy a belt/disc sander and stand;
- Noorat Christmas Tree Committee ($500) to buy Christmas decorations for a town tree in main street; and
- Terang Athletics Club Inc. ($500) for Terang Gift prizemoney;
- 1st Cobden Scouts ($210) to buy lollies for Halloween Trail; and
- approved revised contractual details for the Port Campbell Town Centre Revitalisation Project.
