What happened at the September Council Meeting

At its 16 September meeting, Council:

  • received the interim finance report for the period ending 30 June 2024;
  • noted the provisional “cash” result for 2023-2024;
  • approved the budget variation of $482,234 for 2024-2025;
  • approved 2023-2024 carry forward projects totalling $4,687,460;
  • noted the ‘Municipal Public Health & Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025 Review 2024’;
  • awarded ‘Contract 2025007 Timboon Transfer Station Upgrade’ to CIVELITE Pty Ltd for $633,432 (including GST), excluding provisional options;
  • authorised the Chief Executive Officer to
    • ovary the existing Victorian Energy Collaboration (VECO) 2.0 Joint Procurement Contract (No. CT2020898) to add power for street lighting;
    • claim $700,000 from the Federal Government’s Bridges Renewal Program for replacement of the Old Coach Road bridge in Princetown and pay it to developer, Montarosa Pty Ltd.
    • make funding applications as follows:
      • Tiny Towns Round Two,
        • Cobden: Tandarook Park Masterplan implementation
        • Lismore: footbridge underpass at Browns Waterhole
        • Timboon: Construction of basketball half court
        • Skipton: Jubilee Park amenities upgrade
      • Growing Regions Fund
        • Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail Bridge 13 and associated infrastructure.
  • approved Business Assistance Scheme applications for
    • Effluent Solutions Australia and Engineer It ($2,495 excl GST) for new signage; and
    • Camperdown Nursery and Mart ($2,000 excl GST) to hold a night market.
  • authorised the CEO to approve grant applications received and assessed during the election caretaker period, and to report at the first meeting of the new Council;
  • updated the Instrument of Delegation;
  • noted the 12-month provisional results for the period ending 30 June 2024 for the Local Government Performance Indicators; and
  • noted the ‘Overview of Council Term’ report.

 

At its 24 September special meeting, Council:

  • gave in-principal approval to the Financial Statements and Performance Statement for the year ended 30 June 2024 and authorised Councillors Conheady and Makin to certify the statement.
