What happened at the December 2022 Council meeting

At its December meeting Council:

  • Appointed Ms Phillippa Dee as an independent (external) member of the Corangamite Shire Council Audit and Risk Committee for a three-year period expiring 31 January 2026
  • Endorsed the proposed Committee of Management for the Port Campbell Public Purpose Reserve for 2022 to 2023
  • Adopted the:

      - Cobden Structure Plan 2022
      - Tandarook Park Master Plan
      - Cobden Aerodrome Master Plan 2022; and
      - Agreed to seek authorisation from the Minister for Planning for Planning Scheme Amendment C59 under Section 8A and exhibit Planning Scheme Amendment C59 in accordance with Section 19 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, subject to final ordinance and mapping changes

  • Adopted the:

     - Portable and Attractive Assets Policy dated December 2022
     - Disposal of Assets Policy dated December 2022

  • Awarded Contract No. 2023015 – Design and Construct Bridge Replacement at Digneys Bridge Road, Timboon to Murray Valley Piling Pty Ltd for $631,000 plus GST
  • Delegated authority to the Chief Executive Officer to enter into a licence agreement with Evie Networks for an Electric Vehicle Charging on Bath Street Camperdown
  • Resolved to advertise intention to lease 59 William Street, Lismore to a commercial business
  • Authorised an updated list of Council officers as authorised officers under the Planning and Environment Act 1987
  • Allocated Quick Response Grants to:

     - Cobden and District Historical Society ($500) to replace a window at the former Chocolyn Hall building (located in Cobden)
     - Brucknell Park Scout Camp Committee of Management ($500) to buy an eco printer
     - Wiridjil Recreation Reserve ($500) to buy a hot water system for the Wiridjil Hall
     - Simpson Recreation Reserve Committee ($500) to buy trees
     - Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club ($500) to replace faulty audio visual equipment
