What happened at the October Council Meeting
At its October meeting, Council
- endorsed the Aboriginal Participation and Engagement Action Plan, October 2023;
- appointed Committees of Management for:
- Berrybank hall;
- Camperdown swimming pool;
- Cobden aerodrome;
- Cobden Civic Hall;
- Cobden swimming pool;
- Ecklin hall;
- Lake Tooliorook;
- Lismore swimming pool;
- Port Campbell Public Purpose Reserve;
- Simpson hall;
- Skipton swimming pool;
- Terang Civic Hall;
- Terang swimming pool;
- Timboon and District Public Hall;
- Timboon Sporting Centre; and
- Timboon swimming pool;
- granted a Planning Permit for construction of a road access and removal of native vegetation on Timboon-Port Campbell Road Timboon;
- granted a Planning Permit for a two-lot subdivision on Eastern Creek Road Waarre;
- considered the 2022-2023 Annual Report;
- received the finance report for the period ending 30 September 2023 and approved the adjustments to the 2023-2024 forecast budget as attached;
- endorsed inclusion of specific analysis on the impacts of timber production on land-use, the local economy, environment and community to complement the Grow Corangamite strategy;
- noted the Great South Coast Regional Digital Strategy;
- allocated $6,648.20 (ex GST) from the Community Planning Reserve for engineering survey, alignment and structural design of a replacement wooden footbridge at Browns Water Holes on the Lismore Discovery Trail;
- resolved to proceed with the sale of land on Curdies Road, Timboon;
- noted Ready Now Grants approved by the CEO to:
- Camperdown Angling Club Incorporated ($500) to install energy-efficient lighting; and
- Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club Inc ($500) to buy a double-sided mobile whiteboard and pinboard;
- resolved to lease land to Cobden Technical School for maintaining the vineyard, olive grove and wetland and associated activities, for five years, with the option of another five;
- resolved to declare special charge schemes for
- concrete footpath and associated works on
- the western side of McKinnon Street from Prince Street to Estcourt Street, Terang;
- the northern side of Parrott Street from east of Victoria Street to Walker Street, Cobden;
- the southern side of Tait Street from just west of Daskein Street to Clarke Street, Camperdown;
- upgrading existing gravel road to a sealed road and associated works on Curdies River Road, just north of the golf course to approximately 280 m north of Colcott Street, Timboon;
- installation of kerb and channel and associated works in Dover Street from just north of Silvester Street to Neylon Street, Cobden; and
- Updated Instruments of Appointment & Authorisation under the
- Planning and Environment Act 1987; and
- Environment Protection Act 2017; and
- Congratulated
- the local winners in Dairy Australia’s 2023 Milk Quality Awards
- Mr Warren Couch national medal for service and life membership award for more than 50 years of volunteering with the CFA
- Cr Gstrein on her 20-Year Councillor Service award
