What happened at the August Council Meeting
At its August meeting, Council:
- deferred making a decision on a planning permit for use and development of land for a dwelling, removal of native vegetation and creation of access to a road in on the Great Ocean Road at Princetown to provide an opportunity for the application to be amended for further review and planning assessment.
- refused Planning Permit application PP2022/061 for the use and development of land for a dwelling, removal of native vegetation and creation of access to a road in Princetown.
- received the interim finance report for the period ending 30 June 2023 and noted the provisional “cash” result for 2022-2023;
- approves 2022-2023 carry forward projects totaling $37,007,108; and
- up to $500,000 from the 2022-2023 “cash” surplus to assist in the delivery of the 2023-2024 program including the carry forwards;
- noted the 12-month provisional results for the period ending 30 June 2023 for the legislated performance indicators under the Local Government (Planning and Reporting) Regulations 2020.
- resolved to
- lease Cobden Racecourse Reserve to Progressing Cobden Incorporated to operate a Dairy Theme Park and associated activities for five years with an option for another five;
- give notice of intention to sell land eight residential lots on Curdies Road, Timboon; and
- proceed with the Timboon Precinct Plan and approved a variation of the 2023-2024 Council Budget by allocating $80,000 for the project;
- reallocated $500,000 in Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program funding from the Camperdown Saleyards Roofing Upgrades to:
- McNicol St Long Day Care ($300,000_ and
- Derrinallum Transfer Station Upgrade ($200,0000);
- noted the Corangamite Moyne Library Service - 12 month review;
- Updated S6 Instrument of Delegation Council to Council Staff; and
- allocated Quick Response Grants to
- Camperdown Community House Inc ($500) to buy equipment to establish new play group;
- Camperdown Little Athletics Inc ($469) to buy shelving units;
- Darlington Mechanics Institute Hall COM Inc. ($300) to build an accessible path from the roadside to the hall;
- Derrinallum Bowling Club Inc., ($500) to replace two toilet doors;
- Camperdown Golf Bowls Club Inc ($500) to buy club uniforms;
- Terang RSL Inc. ($480) to make garden improvements Stage 2; and
- Heytesbury Princetown Storm Cricket Club Inc. ($500) for cricket ground signage.
