What happened at the May Council Meeting

At its May meeting, Council

  • refused planning permits for two-lot subdivisions on
    • Williams Road, Scotts Creek;
    • Centre Road, Simpson; and
  • Deferred decision on a planning application for a property on Tomahawk Creek Road Simpson until the June meeting;
  • released the 2024-2025 Draft Budget for public feedback;
  • adopted
    • the Skipton Structure Plan 2024; and
    • the Property Leasing Policy dated May 2024;
  • awarded Contract 2024012: Supply and Installation of Cell 16 Geosynthetics - Corangamite Regional Landfill to GEOTEST Pty Ltd for $564,658.94 including GST;
  • resolved to advertise intention to enter into an 11-month lease, with an option of a further year, with Derrinallum Progress Association for use of 31 Main Street, Derrinallum to conduct community activities and programs;
  • varied to include final costs and seek contributions from property owners benefitting from Special Charge Schemes for installation of footpath and associated works on
    • installation of a footpath and associated works on the eastern side of Cameron Street from Neil Avenue to McWilliam Street, Terang:
    • extension of the footpath and associated works on the northern side of Parrott Street east of Victoria Street to Walker Street, Cobden:
  • adopted an updated Instrument of Delegation to members of Council staff; and
  • approved Business Assistance Scheme funding to AJ&M Automotive Centre, Terang ($537.50) for new façade signage and door graphics.
