Our draft 10-year Financial Plan has been finished after community input.

Residents are invited to share their feedback before Council considers adopting the plan at its October meeting.

Mayor Ruth Gstrein said the plan would guide Council operations until 2031.

“This plan outlines how we can deliver the infrastructure and services our community needs in a financially sustainable way,” Cr Gstrein said,

“Projections in the plan forecast the Shire’s financial position will be relatively stable over the coming decade. This means we can plan strategically for everyday services, capital works and upgrading assets.

“Council is currently debt free and has no plans to borrow. This document will inform decisions to keep us in the black.”

Cr Gstrein thanked the residents who shared their ideas during consultation.

“It’s really important that our residents have input into these plans,” she said.

“These high level strategies directly affect how community assets are managed and what services are provided to the people in our towns and farming areas.

“I encourage everyone to get involved and play their part in planning our future prosperity.”

Cr Gstrein invited residents to read the 10-Year Financial Plan and leave feedback here or call us on 5593 7100 for a hardcopy.

Council’s recently adopted Community Vision was also used in developing the plan.

Maintaining a 10-year financial plan is a requirement of the Local Government Act 2020. Feedback closes 12 October.
