Small business operators can get some free expert advice about navigating the current challenging times.

Corangamite Shire Manager Growth and Engagement Rory Neeson said Council had teamed up with Marketing Entourage to provide free one-on-one mentoring sessions.

“Marketing Entourage mentors businesses to grow by focusing on first-rate customer experience. They know regional Victoria and have worked with businesses in the Great South Coast region, notably through the Ideas Place entrepreneur program which Council was a partner in.

“We have also worked with them on Community Engagement to guide future activation of unused spaces in the Theatre Royal complex.”

Mr Neeson said the mentoring sessions with Marketing Entourage Co-founder and Chief Mentor Phil Ore would be specific to each business.

“The one-hour sessions will be specific to you and will address the actual challenges you are facing.

“You could focus on how to operate in a more digitally focused world, how to understand your market and find opportunities to diversify.

“They are just a couple of examples. Any number of topics relevant to your business can be explored.

“Through my previous work in Corangamite Shire over the last couple of years, I have got to get to know a number of the local community,” he said.

“This includes interviewing and running workshops in relation to the Innovation Hub where we discussed the challenges for the local business community, having Josh from Timboon Railway Shed Distillery and Sam from Forage On The Foreshore Restaurant in Port Campbell as guest speakers for the Regional Growth Summit in May 2020 and also recently working with Real restaurant in Port Campbell on their marketing and new website.”

Bookings can be made here.

Spaces are limited so business operators are encouraged to apply early.
