From London's West End to the Edinburgh Festival and right across the USA, one of the world’s best solo musical comedy performers is coming to Camperdown.

David Scheel has performed with stars including Cleo Laine and John Dankworth, Eartha Kitt, Ben Elton, Jay Leno, Norman Wisdom and Patricia “Hyacinth Bucket” Routledge.

The Australian-born pianist will bring his show ‘Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player’ to the Theatre Royal.

The morning show on Thursday 31 October will start at 10:30 am.

Corangamite Shire Council Acting CEO Justine Linley said audiences could expect virtuosic classical piano mixed with ridiculous send-ups of celebrities like Meghan and Harry or the Kardashians.

“David can play two famous pieces at the same time, and his version of ‘Waltzing Matilda’ is a comedy classic.

“He also has a medley of the 20 worst tunes ever written.

“With the way he puts on different voices and accents, he has been compared to everyone from Victor Borge to Robin Williams.

“David regularly sells out at international comedy festivals and classical music festivals so it’s a real coup to have him here in Corangamite Shire.”
