Corangamite Shire is well served by road and rail transport infrastructure.  Major state highways cross the Shire in the east/west direction, and the Melbourne to Warrnambool rail line provides both freight and public transport services.

V/Line passenger trains operate between Melbourne and Warrnambool four times a day, stopping at Camperdown and Terang railway stations.  V/Line coach services provide direct connections to Ballarat via Derrinallum, Lismore and Skipton from these stations on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Council are in the process of advocating for a fifth service between Warrnambool and Melbourne which is expected to be delivered following infrastructure upgrades to the current line.

On weekdays there is a bus service from Warrnambool to Ballarat via Derrinallum, Lismore and Skipton.  V/Line coaches also operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Warrnambool to Apollo Bay and return along the Great Ocean Road, servicing Port Campbell and Peterborough.
