Public Art

Since 2008 the Corangamite Shire has developed public art in their towns as a guiding principle for arts and culture, connecting the towns with their stories through art.

The council and community guided the process and acquisition of these projects to provide enjoyment and stimulation for both residents and visitors to the Shire. Each project was selected by the community with the artist responding to relevant and current themes for the towns.

To date, public art works have been installed in four towns in the Corangamite Shire – Lismore, Timboon, Terang, Noorat and Cobden.  These works are appreciated and valued by the local communities and have become a part of the tourism and community landscape.
