‘Local Heroes’ Corangamite Calendar competition deadline nears
Published on 21 October 2020
Local heroes are inspirations to the photographers and artists of Corangamite Shire.
If your hero lives, works or volunteers in Corangamite Shire, enter your image of them in Council’s 2021 calendar competition.
The theme, ‘Local Heroes’ is open to interpretation and entries can be photographs, electronic art, or a photo of another artwork.
A panel comprising the Mayor, Youth Mayor, Chief Executive Officer and Communications Coordinator will select the final 13 photos based on the quality of the photograph and balanced representation from across the Shire.
The competition is open to professionals, amateurs and enthusiasts of all ages who earn, learn or live in Corangamite Shire. Entry is free and multiple entries are accepted. Successful entries will be exhibited online and at various locations across the Shire in 2021 and winners will receive a small gift and some calendars.
Each year Council circulates 10,000 calendars to households and businesses across the Shire and to visitors to Corangamite’s natural attractions, events and goods and services. It will be distributed to every household with the Summer edition of the Corangamite Shire News in December.
To enter, click here where you will find the Terms and Conditions and can upload your photo and explanation of why the person is your hero.
Images must be landscape orientation, in colour or black and white, and saved as a high quality jpeg between 1 MB and 8 MB. A quality digital photo must be supplied for other artwork types. A professional photographic copy will be taken of non-photo works if the image is shortlisted.
Entries close Sunday 1 November. By submitting an entry, you give permission for Corangamite Shire to use the photo in the calendar and/or other publications.
