You might have a big TV and surround sound at home, but going out and enjoying a movie as part of an audience makes the whole production a more immersive experience.

Corangamite Shire Council’s mobile cinema offers an opportunity to share the fun with a bigger group.

Community groups across Corangamite Shire are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to host a community movie night screening using Council’s mobile cinema.

Chief Executive Officer David Rae said the program was available to help local groups raise funds and build social connections.

“The 2024-2025 season will run between November 2024 and March 2025.

“Corangamite Film Society volunteers attend indoor or outdoor venues across the Shire and run the movie of your choice on Council’s equipment.

“Depending on the particular title, the film’s distributor will charge between $150 and $350 for screening rights, which will be payable by the community group.

“Council will work with community groups regarding movie choice and to secure screening rights on their behalf.”

Groups can submit an expression of interest via the form at corangamite.vic.gov.au/Mobile-Cinema.

Submissions close on Thursday 31 October 2024.
