Sonic the Hedgehog, Minions come for school holidays
Published on 13 September 2022
School holiday movies are coming back to the Theatre Royal in Camperdown.
The first film is ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ on Wednesday 21 September.
Sonic has settled down in Green Hills but the peace is shattered when Dr Robotnik (Jim Carrey) returns, seeking an emerald with the power to build and destroy civilizations.
Sonic and his sidekick Tails set out to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
Doors open at 12:30 pm for a 1 pm start.
The loveable Minions will hit the big screen at the Theatre Royal on Thursday 29 September in ‘The Rise of Gru’.
In the 1970s young Gru (Steve Carell) is growing up in the suburbs. Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join supervillain supergroup The Vicious 6. With help from his loyal followers, the Minions, Gru builds his first lair, and pulls off his first missions.
Doors open at 10:30 am for an 11 am start.
Corangamite Shire Council Manager Growth and Engagement Rory Neeson encouraged all of the Shire’s young people to come along.
“The theatre has a huge screen and a great sound system so it’s a much better way to see the movie than at home on the TV.
“Get your mates together and come along for a laugh with these two great family movies.
“Entry is free and there will be drinks, popcorn and other snacks available for purchase.”
