Youth creative exhibition set to make Shire smile

The talents of young artists from across Corangamite Shire will be in the spotlight throughout September.
The Corangamite Youth Creative Exhibition at Courthouse Camperdown brings together 34 artworks from 26 young artists.
Mayor Ruth Gstrein said The Youth Fest 2023 event, which opened on Friday 1 September, would run until Saturday 30 September.
“It is an opportunity for our young people aged 12 to 25 years to show us what makes them smile,” Cr Gstrein said.
“Our youth bring fresh ideas, perspectives and skills, and their contributions and achievements should be celebrated.
“Youth Fest aims to provide safe spaces for young people to support their health and wellbeing by building social connections and having fun.
“For many years, the Victorian government has provided support to community organisations, local councils and schools to engage young people in Victorian Youth Week activities.
“In the wake of the pandemic and following consultation with young people and the youth sector, in 2022 Victorian Youth Week was transitioned to Youth Fest.
“The goal is to create an environment where youth-focused and youth-led events can flourish, regardless of challenges such as the pandemic.”
The Corangamite Youth Creative Exhibition is supported by the Victorian Government.
