Corangamite Shire Australia Day Awards
On 26 January each year, we publicly recognise the exceptional contributions, hard work and determination of people who make a positive difference within Corangamite Shire.
We have many champions in our Shire who do wonderful deeds in their community, who work quietly around our towns, drive kids to footy practice, deliver meals-on-wheels, perhaps volunteer with CFA or other community organisations or have just made a difference. The Community Awards are an opportunity for these people and/or community organisations to be recognised for their contribution.
The 2025 ceremony was at Camperdown's Theatre Royal, honouring the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year.
Six community members also became Australian citizens during a special Citizenship Ceremony. Olympic trap shooting bronze medallist Penny Smith was keynote speaker at the celebration.
Nominations for the 2026 Australia Day awards will open in late 2025.
Our 2025 Australia Day Award winners are:
Citizen of the Year: Leeanne Whitehead - Timboon
Young Citizen of the Year: Alysa Hibburt - Port Campbell
